As the year comes to a close, Lincoln Park’s Model United Nations begins preparing for their next year. Model United Nations is a club that simulates what it would be like to be a part of the actual United Nations. Some committees in the United Nations, include: general assembly, security council, and other multilateral body. Last week in the club, elections were made, and the club says “good bye” to two parting seniors: Gianni Del Sesto and Kamila Sadko.
One of the biggest conferences Lincoln Park Model UN participated in is Model United Nations with University of Chicago, held downtown at the Palmer House hotel with participants from all over the world, though mostly Illinois students. One student, Alicia Levine, was even recognized for her outstanding work this year as a delegate.
The latest conference Lincoln Park attended was Global Classrooms at Loyola. Many schools from around the city and suburbs participated.
