A Night at the Grammys

Another year another Grammy’s awards night. The 59th annual Grammy Awards took place on February 12, 2017 and had people glued to their seats during the whole time. From the shocking Album of the Year winner to the exciting performances, the Grammy’s this year was definitely an entertaining night for music lovers and artists in the music biz alike. Amongst the many artists that were nominated Adele swept the most awards with a total of 5. She won Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, as well as Album of the Year. In her acceptance of Album of the Year she initially said she was rooting for Beyoncé to win and honored her by ripping the Grammy award into 2 pieces. Talk about slaying the music world.

 Beyoncé also came home a big winner with 2 awards in each hand for Best Music Video and Best Urban Contemporary Album. Both talented artists performed spectacular performances that the crowd loved. Beyoncé performed 2 songs that celebrated women and motherhood as she announced the arrival of her twins. Another talked-about big winner of the night was Chance the Rapper. He won Best Rap album, Best New Artist, and Best Rap Performance. He expressed his joy and utmost gratefulness to God in giving the opportunity to share his music as he gave his acceptance speech.
